Join us at the
national service project on Saturday, January 19th!
This year, GW is a proud
partner with Points of Light and other local and national organizations for the
signature National Day of Service project in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King,
Jr. This project will engage the community in service and dialogue to celebrate
the life and legacy of Dr. King as well as the Presidential Inauguration
events.
Participants will pack
100,000 care kits filled with necessities for deployed U.S. Service Members,
Wounded Warriors, Veterans and First Responders. Join us to show appreciation to
those who serve our country.
Who: All members of the GW community -
students, faculty, staff, and alumni - along with family and friends.
(Volunteers ages 12 to 17 years are welcome with parents or legal guardians.
Large groups are also welcome to register.)
When: Saturday, January 19, 2013
9am-4:30pm (volunteer shifts are 2.5 hours each)
Where: The DC Armory (2001 East Capitol
St., SE)
Bus Transportation from
the Foggy Bottom campus is available; Parking at The DC Armory is available;
Metro accessible by the Blue/Orange lines: Stadium/Armory
