All GW Faculty, Students,
and Staff,
As you are all well aware,
the impacts of Hurricane Sandy led the university to cancel classes on October
29 and 30. In order to provide the full fourteen weeks of classes scheduled for
the fall semester, GW will implement the following plan for making up those
cancelled classes:
Monday, December 10: follow
the regular Monday class schedule to make up classes from Monday, October
29.
Tuesday, December 11:
follow the regular Tuesday class schedule to make up classes from Tuesday,
October 30.
Wednesday, December 12:
This will be the only Reading Day for the fall semester. Students are
encouraged, as always, to complete assignments as early as possible and to use
the weekend of December 8-9 to complete papers and projects and to prepare for
final examinations.
Faculty may schedule make
up classes for other classes that were cancelled during the semester through the
Academic Scheduling Office at any time. In particular, classes that might have
been made up on December 10, the originally scheduled Make Up Day, may be
scheduled on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8.
Thank you for your
understanding and cooperation as GW seeks to provide the full complement of
classes for the fall 2012 semester.

Associate Provost for Academic Operations
