ECAASU Volunteer Recruitment

Get ready for the East Coast Asian American Student Union (ECAASU) 2014 Conference in Washington, D.C at George Washington University and the Grand Hyatt hotel. This upcoming conference will be held from February 21 to 23, 2014! ECAASU is the oldest and largest intercollegiate Asian Pacific American advocacy organization. For the past 36 years, ECAASU has connected young activists from various races, ethnicities, and backgrounds, with the mission of advancing the social equality of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI). The conference is an opportunity to educate, empower, and inspire change.

This year’s theme is “Mission IGNITION: Champion Your Cause!” Aligned with our city’s passion and political energy, we want our attendees to find their passion and to want to be the champion for their particular cause, whatever it may be. We stand together as an active group of college students, ready to accomplish our goal to inspire students to pursue their ambitions.

The conference features dynamic workshops, performances and entertainment, and inspirational speakers. Additionally, we are offering a Sunday Session on Leadership and Professional Development for the first time! Meals will also be provided for registered participants of the conference, including a 3-course seated banquet for the Closing Ceremony Gala!

However, we cannot run this conference without your help! We are seeking volunteers in the DMV region to help out with the conference. We are especially looking for individuals with previous experience in sound and lighting equipment for our performances and individuals with experience in photography. Whether you are a working professional, a college student, or even a high school student in the D.C. area, we would love for you to get involved with the largest Asian American conference. This is how you can get involved: If you volunteer for more than 6 hours, you can get a 25% discount off of the current registration price ($75) and a FREE t-shirt!
