Lecture 1 Intro to Direct Marketing Business and direct mail
Upon completion of this lecture, you will be able to
• Define the fundamentals of direct marketing in a customer centric organization
• Describe direct marketing’s transforming role and how it is evolving in a multichannel environment
• Explore the applications of direct marketing
• Follow the evolution of traditional direct marketing techniques
• Indentify strategies for customer relationship building and B2B marketing
• Discuss direct market performance measurement
• Plan, create and evaluate a direct mail package
• Recognize the elements that effect the success of direct mail creative: i.e. format, design, copy and the creative strategy
• Interpret the role of various elements within a direct mail package
• Identify alternative direct mail channels
• Describe various production techniques relating to the preparation of direct mail

Lecture 2 Marketing Metrics
• Explain the importance of tracking and monitoring your businesses using basic metrics
• Calculate customer acquisition metrics for both offline and online direct marketing
• Compute customer retention metrics for both offline and online direct marketing
• Apply acquisition and retention metrics to analyze direct marketing efforts
• Understand what to look for in metrics for further investigation

Lecture 3 data base practice and SAS PROC/ if interested, we have advanced lecture available
Upon completion of this lecture, you will be able to
• Detailed instruction on how to effectively use database marketing techniques to identify, segment and target an audience to accurately and cost effectively reach intended recipients.

Lecture 4 Research and Testing in marketing/Model intro
Upon completion of this lecture, you will be able to
• Describe the importance of marketing research and message testing and to present such to management in order to get research budget
• Implement direct marketing research for direct mail and email
• Explain attitudinal, quadrant, audience and competitive analysis research
• Develop a testing framework for direct marketing and email message
