IS LOOKING FOR INTERNS!
Here's a great opportunity for those interested in undergraduate and graduate internships in Washington, DC at a new and fast-growing non-profit Asian American organization:
United Chinese Communities, through its Washington, DC-based National Asian American Center, is seeking interns in the areas of social research, communications and outreach, development, research, mobile app/website development to assist in facilitating UCC activities.
The mission of United Chinese Communities is to empower Chinese Americans to come together to serve, lead, and inspire.
Specifically, we advance the relations between China, the US, and the world as well as promote the general well-being of Chinese American and Asian American communities through policy advocacy, research, networking, information dissemination, leadership development, and community outreach and empowerment.
UCC does this by:
Networking and strengthening Chinese American organizations in a federation so that their voices and concerns are heard throughout the world
Supporting and enhancing US, Chinese, and global engagement and mutual understanding
Inform and prepare public, private, and civic sector leaders for a complex global future impacted by the US and China on the world stage
Provide a meeting place and nexus for Chinese, Chinese Diaspora, and Asian American communities to engage in domestic and international policy and advocacy
Through its National Asian American Center (NAAC), be a think tank and research center for critical studies on politics, social and environmental change, and economic and trade relations
Establishes programs for youth leadership among Chinese, Chinese Americans, and Asian Americans who will enrich knowledge and facilitate greater dialogue between the US and China
Most of these undergraduate and undergraduate internships are unpaid positions and require at least 10 hours during each semester or quarter. There is also the possibility of a summer stipend of $1,000 and Fall semester stipend of $500 and a Spring Semester stipend of $500 for qualifying applicants with advanced training (especially technical, fundraising, and computer programming) and/or graduate education who intern full time during the summer and at least 15 hours during the academic year.

We are located in the heart of Washington, DC in the K Street Corridor area, two blocks away from the White House. Three Metro station are very close-by (Farragut West, Farragut North, and McPherson Square).
Most of these undergraduate and graduate internships are unpaid positions and require at least 10 hours. Hours are flexible and negotiable. Some weekend and evening hours may be required.
Internship Start Date: Starting on August 31, 2015.
Internship Location: 910 17th Street, NW, 8th Floor, Washington, DC 20006, near Farragut West and Farragut North Metro Station.
Duration: Fall 2015, Winter 2015, and Spring 2016. Summer programs are part and full-time.
