DC 驾照更换&申请攻略 2014.9月版

因为DC在今年略微改变了政策，所以之前hellogwu论坛上版本的DMV驾照攻略与现实有些出入，所以我重新写了一份新攻略来帮助有需要的各位完成DC驾照更换。

#离GWU校园最近的DMV在Georgetown,具体地址是：

3222 MStreet, NW

进门乘电梯往地下走，没有手机信号，提供免费Wi-Fi。

运营时间是： 周二 至 周六   早上8:15 - 下午3点

在这家DMV你可以参加为外国人准备的驾照考试(Driver License for Non-US Citizens )

#在参加考试时候你需要携带以下证件

**护照和 I-20 文件（有可能需要提供I94表格）

**提供SSN号码（如果没有的话，可以办理SocialSecurity denial letter，具体见后面解释)

**至少两份文件证明你居住在华盛顿DC（允许的文档有 租房合同，电话账单，银行checking&savingaccount账单，注意信用卡账单不能使用，且所有账单均需为最近60天的）

**中国驾照及有效翻译件

**另别忘了带大约60刀的钱，支持信用卡

#参加考试的步骤：

1. 准备文件，包括事先获取SSN或者SocialSecurity denial letter）。

2.前往DMV，在门口排队时填写申请表，预计总计排队时间在1小时左右。

3.DMV工作人员对办理驾照所需文件进行初步检验，并提供排队号码。

4.坐在座位上等待叫号，预计等待1.5小时。

5.走到相应柜台，接受文件检验。

6.完成笔试（25道选择题必须正确20道，模拟题 http://dmv.dc.gov/external-link/sample-knowledge-test）

7.笔试通过后完成视力测试（读一些数字）。

8.获得临时驾照，正式驾照随后将通过邮件形式寄送到家里。

#注意事项：

一年内最多参加6次笔试。

#附1： 关于SSNdenial letter的办理

办理地点： USSocial Security Administration

所需文件： I-20,  I-94, Passport，2份居住证明（参考DMV要求）

I-94获取方式： 登陆 https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html

#附2: 被DMV认可的居住证明：

可以携带纸质版；亦可以将电子pdf版本发送至gt.info@dc.gov 邮箱，由现场工作人员协助打印。

建议携带租房合同lease。

SourceDocuments (TWO required) - must be original (which includes computer printoutsfor online bills) AND contain a valid DC address (P.O. Boxes notacceptable):

·        Utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric, Oil, or Cable), with nameand address, issued within the last sixty(60) days(disconnect notices/bills not accepted)

·        Telephone bill (cell phone, wireless or pager bills acceptable),reflecting applicant's name and current address, issued within the last sixty(60) days (disconnect notices/bills not accepted)

·        Deed, mortgage or settlement agreement reflectingapplicant's name and property address

·        Unexpired lease or rental agreement with the name of theapplicant listed as the lessee, permitted resident or renter (may be aphotocopy)

·        DC Property Tax bill issued within the last twelve (12) months

·        Unexpired homeowner's or renter’s insurance policy reflectingname and address

·        *Letter with picture from Court Services and OffenderSupervision Agency (CSOSA) or DC Department of Corrections (DC DOC) certifyingname and DC residency issued within the last sixty (60) days

·        DC DMV Proof of Residency Form signed bythe person owning the residence AND a copy of this person's unexpired DC driverlicense or DC identification card AND TWO (2) of the  sources listedabove (i.e. Utility bill, telephone bill, etc.) in the person owning theresidence’s name

·        Bank Statement issued within the last sixty (60) days reflectingname and address (only checking and savings accounts; credit card and money marketstatements not accepted)

·        Official Mail – received from a Federal or DC Agency (with fullname and address) to include contents and envelope (received within the lastsixty (60) days), excluding mail from the DC Department of Motor Vehicles

·        *DC DMV Approved Form from Certified Social Service Provider

#附3：受认可的中国驾照翻译件获取方式

**可以使用中国 公证处办理的公证翻译

**或者可以使用受DMV认可的翻译员（ChangbaiLi 4105041889 or 2405013818 Maryland111）

#附4：驾照考试几个常考数据点：

必须在Firetrucks/emergency vehicle之后保持500 feet距离

与自行车保持2 feet距离

转弯前100feet之前打转向灯

停车时与路沿距离不超过12 inch

在上坡up hill停车时 前轮前侧向外（awaythe curbs)

在下坡downhill停车时前轮前侧向内（towardthe curbs)

不要在以下地方停车：

within5 feet of public/private driveway

within10 feet of a fire hydrant

within25 feet in front of side signal

within20 feet opposite fire station or 75 feet within fire station

within50 feet of nearest rail

华盛顿的道路限速如下：

citystreet 25 mile

alley15 mile

schoolzone 15 mile

ordinaryhighway 30-50 mile

dividedhighway 30-55 mile

interstate55-75 mile

如果遇见校园巴士schoolbus，请保持20 feet的距离

如果你不能看见500feet的道路时候请打开前灯。

在以下情况下将大灯关小changeto low beam: 500 feet of oncoming vehicle或者300 feet when follow another vehicle
