MindBloom Preschool of DC is in search of past graduated and current undergraduate and graduate level applicants who are Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, Education/Teaching, or Engineering majors, or people who either were past or who are current Piano Music majors or people who are skilled at playing the Piano. Applicants can be female or male and must be native speakers and have writing proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or Spanish, with strong proficiency in verbal and written English. This is a competitive, part-time paid position for college-level individuals, that requires applicants to be ambitious and interested in serving the developmental and educational needs of a diverse mix of young children from all backgrounds and cultures and also requires that applicants be willing to multitask duties commonly performed in a professional child care setting, such as but not limited to:
1. Exhibiting motivation and strength to be an ACTIVE and VOCAL leader who is enthusiastic about teaching small groups of children, ages 2-5, basic skills involving reading, writing, and math, etc.
2. Assisting young children with character-building tasks and exercises based on developing self- esteem
3. Engaging in educational and meaningful roles where you exhibit leadership skills to help children resolve conflicts peaceably
4. Having the health and ability to engage in play activities that will require physical movement 5. Working well with others in a similar capacity for the overall benefit and welfare of the children in care
Applicants must also have a flexible schedule with at least one day of consecutive hours available to work Monday through Friday anytime between the hours of 7:30am and 3:30pm, requiring at least 15 hours to contribute during the week. Applicants can work up to 35 hours per week. Paid lunch breaks and free parking are offered, in addition to a competitive hourly rate.
A commitment of at least 9 months is required of any successful applicant who can start this position in January 2014. Selected applicants will be asked for background and health screenings upon being hired. To apply for this position, please submit the following as your application:

5. A list of the weekdays and specific times you would be available to work, if selected
6. College transcripts showing an overall G.P.A. of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
