The Tour de Fat bicycle festival will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Yards Park!The Tour de Fat is the biggest, craziest and most fabulous party in the DC region celebrating bicycling and good times. Tour de Fat is a FREE bicycle festival that raises a lot of support for WABA and other bicycle advocacy focused non-profits in the region. The festival is hosted and sponsored by New Belgium Brewing Company. About the Tour de Fat:Where: Yards Park at 355 Water St SE, Washington, DC
When: Saturday, May 21st. Kick-off bike ride departs at 11am. Festival starts at 12:00pm Noon and goes until 5pm.
Who: All ages. Tour de Fat is a family friendly festival.
Cost: FREE (beers will be for sale for $5 each)
2016 Schedule
10:00 am – Ride Registration opens (pre-register here!)
11:00 am – Parade-style Bike Ride departs from Yards Park
12:00 pm – Fashion! Show and Tapping of the Kegs
1:00 pm – Esmé Patterson Band
2:15 pm – The Bike is Right! Game Show to win a 2016 New Belgium bike
2:45 pm – Car For Bike Trade
3:40 pm – Los Amigos Invisibles
5:00 pm – Adios Amigos! (show’s over) Getting there: There will be a huge free bike valet onsite (first come first served for valet parking)! Yards Park is a short walk from the Navy Yard Metro Station. Plan to bike or take public transit as there is very limited nearby parking – there a few pay-t0-park surface lots close by.
Admission to Tour de Fat and high-fives are always FREE!
New Belgium brews will be for sale during the event to raise funds for the benefiting bicycle non-profits. 100% of the proceeds from the parade and beer sales go right back to WABA and the four other regional bike non-profits. Each year, the Tour de Fat features free entertainment and an awesome headliner, wacky bicycle games and activities, bike themed contests, and of course tons of good craft beer.

Well there’s a reason for that. Friday, May 20th is Bike to Work Day! Saturday, May 21st is of course the Tour de Fat!
