We are looking for a server network technician to join the IT team in our Vienna VA office. Members of the IT team will work independently or collaboratively as a team in research, build and install our proprietary distributed systems in our commercial offices and data centers. Infrastructure providing a hybrid synchronous and asynchronous computing crowdsourced computing platform to the end users.


The primary focus for this position is to research server configurations, mostly hardwares, that can host multiple GPUs then design, order, and install those servers in various office locations and data centers near the Vienna VA area.

Responsibility:

• Research, design, install and maintain servers used in our distributed infrastructure
• Monitoring and performing ongoing maintenance on servers and network equipment.
• Providing IT support to staff relating to server and network issues.
• Protecting company data by preventing the overheating of data center components.
• Running hardware diagnostics and replacing failing parts on time
• Monitoring all network processes to ensure the smooth flow of data across the network.
• Upgrading internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables.
• Documenting processes and keeping event logs.
• Advising on the procurement of new data center equipment.
• Keeping track of developing trends in data center technologies.
• Designing and budgeting hardware configurations.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree and experience (in information technology / computing)
• Knowledge and experience of hardware and configurations in setting up servers.
• Knowledge of and experience of delivering technologies
• Knowledge and exposure to IT supplier management and licensing
• Good people and team management skills
• Excellent communication skills
