RIM (Risk Management Iniviative in Microfinance), based in Washington, DC, is looking for one (1) Product Development Intern (Volunteer) to assist in making their Risk Management Knowledge Base (RMKB) accessible to members and the industry at large through their website. The RMKB is a reference resource outlining key “must have” information about the contents of the RMGM such as How to Calculate, What to Watch Out For, Benchmarking, etc. The contents of the Knowledge Base will guide a user of the RMGM in gaining a better understanding of each RMGM guideline as well as providing technical information to assist RMGM assessment tool users. The RMKB will be incorporated into the RMGM framework and on the RIM website. The Product Development Intern will work in close coordination with the RIM Director and external consultants.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Build RMKB section within RIM member-only section of RIM’s website;
Track overall project progress;
Ensure project deadlines are met;
Identifying processes for quality review and standards;
Liaise with RIM Director, copy editor, and graphic/web designer(s)
Qualifications:
Written and spoken fluency in English
BA Degree in International Development/Relations/Business, Political Science, Economics, Public Policy, Finance, or Marketing (Masters preferred) or similar related experience;
Ability to work independently as well as within a team;
Working knowledge or interest of microfinance sector (knowledge of risk management preferred);
Detail oriented, efficient, and able to promptly meet deadlines;
Ability to work at least 30 hours/week – both within RIM’s office as well as remotely, if necessary;
Knowledge and experience using Wordpress
Knowledge and experience using MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint preferred)
