This Saturday, March 10, we will be taking a guided tour of the U.S. Capitol Building and ending our trip at the Library of Congress.
Please text Richard at (949) 633-7610 if you would like to join us! We will be meeting at 9:30 AM at the church parking lot (525 A St. NE Washington DC 20002) and walking to the U.S. Capitol Building from there. Our tour begins at 10:30 AM, but it takes some time to get through security. After the tour, we will head over to the Library of Congress. You are welcome to take your time touring the Library.
U.S. Capitol:
This is where U.S. laws are made. For more details on the Capitol, please visit http://www.visitthecapitol.gov/. We have a guided tour scheduled for 10:30 AM.
The following items are strictly prohibited from the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center:
Liquid, including waterFood or beverage of any kind, including fruit and unopened packaged foodNon-aerosol sprays (Prescriptions for medical needs are permitted.)Any bag larger than 18” wide x 14” high x 8.5” deepKnives of any sizeAerosol containersAny pointed object, e.g., knitting needles and letter openers. (Pens and pencils are permitted.)Electric stun guns, martial arts weapons or devicesGuns, replica guns, ammunition and fireworksMace and pepper sprayRazors and box cutters
Library of Congress:
The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world and has a beautiful interior. They also run several exhibits, and you can find more information on the exhibits at http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/current/.
