Dr. Jianping Zhang is currently the Senior Managing Director of AI and ML with Ankura Consulting Group, and has over 30 years of proven R&D, business development, and team management experiences in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics with advanced companies such as MITRE, AOL, Navigant and Deloitte. He had also co-founded a high-tech start-up in AI and ML that got acquired by a public company. He obtained his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from UIUC some 30 years ago, and had been a Professor of Computer Sciences with Utah State University for 10 years, as well an adjunct Professor with VirgiaTech for 9 years. He has over 100 peer-reviewed publications, and US patents.
Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) studies methodologies and technologies in the development of computer systems to perform tasks that requires human intelligence. Machine Learning (ML) is a field in AI and studies methods and algorithms that extract patterns and knowledge from historical data. This 2-hour systematic training introduces the concepts of AI and ML with a focus on Machine Learning, as well as practical project examples. We will introduce different machine learning technologies, supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning. Particularly, details of supervised learning will be covered with a few sample machine learning applications. The audiences are expected to walk away with an overall pictures and broad knowledge of AI and ML, exposed to some practical projects, as well as a taste of frontiers in AI and ML.
