标题: GW Hospital neurology department 招 data scientist
The Gholipour Lab is looking for a Data Scientist!

This position involves the application of state-of-the-art functional and structural MRI imaging methods. The successful candidate will work closely with other researchers on projects involving application of sophisticated neuroimaging methods to answer clinical questions such as identification of epileptic networks and focus through structural and functional MRI, as well as positron emission tomography (PET). This position provides the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, cognitive neuroscientists, graduate students, and research assistants at the George Washington University as well as the Children’s National Medical Center.

Competitive salary will be commensurate with academic degree and past experience. As a full-time employee position, full benefits, and excellent resources for career development in both academic and non-academic settings are provided.
To apply, please send a cover letter describing research interests and experience, along with resume including names and contact information of two references to Taha Gholipour, MD at gholipourlab@mfa.gwu.edu.

Please browse our lab website and contact us with questions: https://smhs.gwu.edu/gholipour-lab/
Responsibilities
·        Analyze raw neuroimaging data from MRI, functional MRI and PET: assessing quality, structuring for downstream processing
·        Combine data from multiple modalities including above imaging tools as well as electrophysiology data from EEG and stereotactic EEG.
·        Design accurate and scalable prediction algorithms using a variety of machine learning approaches
·        Collaborate with junior lab members and other faculty to assist with data analysis needs and advance their project
·        Generate professional data reports, multimodal imaging visualization, and EEG source localization.

Qualifications
·        Masters or PhD in computer science, biomedical engineering or equivalent experience in quantative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, disciplines related to data science and machine learning). Candidates with other degrees are encouraged to apply if they have a strong background in neuroimaging or machine learning.
·        Experience with computer programming in MATLAB or Python, and working in Linux environment is required. Familiarity with image analysis software such as SPM, FSL, AFNI, or FreeSurfer, and experience with basic machine learning are highly desirable. The position will provide opportunities for acquiring clinical knowledge and training in imaging methods.
·        Familiarity with predictive modeling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms
·        Superior organization and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a professional academic environment
