seeking Mandarin-speaking after-school babysitter in AU Park/Tenleytown
We are seeking a kind, creative and reliable native Mandarin-speaking person to take care of our five-year-old daughter after school, M-F. We live in AU Park, an easy walk from the Tenleytown metro station and buses that run along Mass Avenue.
She attends a Chinese immersion public charter school; both of her parents are Mandarin speakers, as well, although not native speakers.
Roughly speaking, we would need someone from 4-6:30 M-Th and 2-6:30 F.
The job will entail overseeing simple activities such as going to the playground or library, playdates in the neighborhood, reading with her, arts & crafts. Mostly we’re keen for her to have unstructured downtime with an engaging, kind, active and responsible companion and using her Mandarin outside the classroom, in everyday situations.
Ideally, we prefer someone with a car, but that isn’t mandatory. The fit in terms of personality and interests is much more important to us.
